We had a merged meeting with the teams of both CroggesServer and Shadowburn last week. We discussed the future of Shadowburn for hours and we came to the conclusion that Shadowburn has no future in its current state.
Shadowburn has existed for nearly one year now and from its beginning had a lot of problems which affected the account and character database in a negative way, for example major bug abusing and the known gm abusing had a very negative influence.
That is one of the reasons why we decided to close Shadowburn and delete all accounts / characters. It is sad that loyal players are getting punished this way but only a fresh start will give Shadowburn a future.
ShadowBurn will be closed for an unknown period of time to focus solely on the development of the core, the website, advertising (including the massmail of 200k+ emails!) and the organisation of our new team.
The "New Shadowburn" will be an official part of CroggesServer and as most of you know CroggesServer is one of the few private servers which has a very experienced GM team. CroggesServer has been online since 2006 and currently has no Wotlk realm online, although, CS had the first Wotlk testrealm worldwide online.
The new realm will get slightly increased rates (most likely 3x-5x), a new vote system, finally a working donation system and a transfer tool to copy your Crogge's TBC characters to the new Wotlk realm. If you want to have a head start, you can already start leveling a character on the TBC realm from which you will be able to transfer using the aforementioned transfer tool when the realm opens. Details of the new realm will be published closer to its grand opening.
We hope that you understand our decision and join the new realm which will ensure that player and team rules get enforced. We didn't discuss a compensation for the current SB members yet but you can expect further information in the next few days.
